Noise and other nuisances.

The one fact that emerges from all the literature on turbine noise is that it is almost impossible to predict in advance. Several homes are well within the distances that are quoted as being adversely affected. Nuon only installed 5 noise meters around the development.  It is surprising to note that only one was installed close to Draughton, likely to be the most affected village.  It also seems that some noise meters were sited next to foliage which could mean that the results are not as meaningful as they should be

Some properties will experience shadow flicker.  The number of these properties may be small but the impact could be highly detrimental to the health and well being of people living at those properties.  

Recent months have seen a number of spectacular turbine failures, fires, blade failure and ‘ice throw’ incidents, almost all of which the industry has previously claimed could never happen. The worry here is for the integrity of the amenity value of both the Brampton Valley Way , Green Lanes bridleway that define two of the site borders and the bridleway that actually crosses the site.
